Clinical evidence shows that smoking causes a significant increase in recurrence of heart failure and risk of death in patients after hospitalization for heart failure. Patients who receive even brief advice about quitting smoking are more likely to quit than those who receive no advice or counseling. Higher numbers reflect better performance.
