BJC HealthCare is committed to offering patients the highest quality care. To help
patients and family members understand how our member hospitals perform compared
to nationally recognized quality indicators, we have compiled the following quality
reports.
These quality reports are just part of BJC's commitment to helping patients and
family members make informed health-care choices. Measuring and monitoring our quality
performance also helps us evaluate and improve how we care for our patients.
The reports include key quality measures, such as how well we follow accepted evidence-based
standards and how often we achieve desired patient outcomes. Whenever possible,
the quality reports compare our hospitals’ performance to the median (middle) and
highest (top ten percentile) performance for all hospitals in the United States.
Most of the hospital performance comparisons come from the U.S. Center for Medicare
and Medicaid Services Hospital Compare website, where the
data can be 12-24 months old. The BJC HealthCare performance data is the most recent
information available.
Each of BJC HealthCare's hospitals, supported by advanced information technologies,
ongoing research and caring professionals, use these reports as part of their performance
improvement programs. Together we are working to improve patient care in our community
and share best practices throughout the country.
